Trombinoscope Contacts
Pro
Category With Children When on a specific category, the output also shows the sub-categories. For instance, when set to yes, selecting a category in the categories selection box will show the category and include its sub-categories. This will work everywhere a category is picked inside the view.
Table layout The kind of table layout to use (identical to the CSS terminology). The table is set to be 100% of its container.
  • Auto the column width is set by the widest unbreakable content in the cells
  • Fixed the column widths are divided equally across the table, regardless of content inside the cells, unless columns widths are specified
Placement icons When icons are selected, show them:
  • Table head in the column header
  • Table rows on each row
  • Both in the column header and each row
Warning Some columns may not have default icons when icons are shown in the column header. You may need to select an icon explicitly.

Min row width The width under which the table will transform into a mobile-friendly view

Category
  • Show shows the category the contact is a member of
  • Show and link shows the category the contact is a member of and adds a link to the Joomla contact category view
  • Show and link view shows the category the contact is a member of and adds a link to a trombinoscope view
Link to view The view selected for the category link.
'Self' will filter the current view by that category
Column width Forces the category column, if shown, to be of a certain width/min width. It is possible to choose between pixels and percentages
Tags
  • Show shows the tags the contact is a member of
  • Show and link shows the tags the contact is a member of and adds a link to the Joomla tags view
  • Show and link view shows the tags the contact is a member of and adds a link to a trombinoscope view
Note Tags use the tcptag.php layout and can be overridden (more layout information in the Common information section)
Link to view The view selected for the tag link. 
Column width Forces the tags column, if shown, to be of a certain width/min width. It is possible to choose between pixels and percentages
Vcard Show the vcard link for vcard download
Vcard icon Use the default icon or select your own icon to represent the vcard
Vcard type Detailed contact information can be exported as personal (home fields) or business related (work fields)
Featured Add a visual cue if the contact is featured
Featured icon Use the default icon or select your own icon to represent the featured contact
Linking
Link to
  • Contact (Trombinoscope Contacts Pro) The contact card links to a Trombinoscope Contacts Pro component's Contact view
  • Contact in modal (Trombinoscope Contacts Pro) The contact card links to a Trombinoscope Contacts Pro component's Contact view opening into a modal window
  • Contact (Joomla) the contact card links to the Joomla contact view
  • Contact (no form) in modal (Joomla) the contact card links to the Joomla contact view opening into a modal (the view cannot have a form or internal links)
  • Contact picture in modal the contact card links to the picture of the contact (opening into a modal window)
  • Link A, B, C, D or E (same window) The contact card links to any of the contact links A through E, opening in the same window
  • Link A, B, C, D or E (new window) The contact card links to any of the contact links A through E, opening in a new window
  • Same link for all (same window) All contacts link to the same internal page
  • Same link for all (new window) All contacts link to the same external page
Popup width The popup width when using a popup window to open the contact
Popup height The popup height when using a popup window to open the contact
Link label A label for the link to the contact (left blank, the contact links through its name). Adding a label will create an additional table column.
behavior change v4.4 The name has its own 'link name' option. Leaving the field 'link label' empty will no longer force a link on the name.
Link for all The link to use for all contacts when they all open in the same page
Access The access level group that is authorized to use the link. Unauthorized users won't have a link available to them
Editing
Allow editing Adds a link to edit contacts (only visible to the logged user that is associated with a contact).

  • User profile edit the contact in the user profile (the ‘Edit contact in profile’ plugin must be enabled)
  • v3.0 View edit the contact in its own view
Note The edition in the user profile only works if the user is linked to one and only one contact.
The edition in the view will work if the user has the right access permissions (see the Permissions section) and a User contacts view exists
Edit link label The label to use for the edit link

Headings

It is possible to group contact cards into category sections with headings, when categories are ordered.

Headings
  • Show shows the category as a heading. All contacts, members of that category, will show under that heading
  • Show and link shows the category as a heading and adds a link to the Joomla contact category view
  • Show and link view shows the category as a heading and adds a link to a trombinoscope view
Link to view The view selected for the category link. 'Auto' will find the first view where the category is featured in.
Heading tag The HTML heading to use (h1 through h6)
Description Option to show the description of the heading
Image Option to show the image of the heading
Alphabet Option to show sub-headings made of all elements of the alphabet
