Hello,
you can make any modification to your needs, it is indeed powered by a specific CSS stylesheet.
As far as the meta description is concerned, you need to work with the class 'newsintro'. I would suggest you look at your website's source code to find out which other classes are involved in the event you need to work on more tweaks.
