It turns out the core Joomla model that selects articles now considers the category to possibly be an array. That is why the multiple categories case is working with the core Latest News module.

I will have to modify the Latest News Enhanced module query to also allow for these unusual use cases and this will not be a quick fix. I will take a shot at it but will not release an update to the module until I am sure this will not affect other users.

Therefore, please send me an email ([email protected]) in order for me to have your info and to be able to send you a beta of the module when I have something ready for you to test out.
