So, I gave up trying to set up the test site on a local site--one problem after the other. Installed the 4.0.1 plugin and IT WORKS! Thanks for your help in this and I'm thinking future updates will be automatic/Joomla install. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Uh-uh, may have spoken too soon. Went to back up the site using Akeeba Backup and got this message: Akeeba Backup - An unhandled Exception has been detected500 FOF: View \Akeeba\Backup\Admin\View\Backup\Html not foundFile

Please contact Akeeba's support for the backup error, this is unrelated to jQuery Easy.
