Truly Responsive Slides

Parameters related to the data that will be used to create the slideshow.

Data source
  • Images from a directory of images
  • Articles from the Joomla articles
  • K2 items from the K2 items (the K2 extension must be installed)
Images
Image directory The directory where the images are stored for the slideshow.
/ will get the images from the /images directory.
Images can only be stored in a subdirectory of /images or the directory itself

Example /my_directory_of_images/

Note Images must have the extensions .jpg, .jpeg (New 1.12) or .png
Alt attributes The newline-separated alt attributes for each image (to comply with standards).
Use ‘x’ to skip an entry for an image. Alt text will not be visible but will appear in the source code.The remaining list of alt attributes can be left blank (ne need to use ‘x’)
Captions The newline-separated captions for the images (HTML inline elements are allowed).

Sort The way images are sorted in the slider.
  • by file name (alphabetical order)
  • by date (server modified file date)
Articles / K2 items
Categories / K2 categories Select the Joomla! standard categories or K2 categories the articles are from (multiple select).
Subcategories Automatically selects the next level or all levels of a category
Tags / K2 tags Select which tags the items must have. 'All tags' will select all items having tags
Tags match type How tags need to match
  • All The item is selected if it has all of the tags
  • Any The item is selected if at least one tag is found
Custom fields A selection of custom fields one can filter with (articles only). Learn how to use fields as filters in this tutorial.
Use as many fields as needed, but be aware that multiplying the number of fields may have performance impact issues
Custom field The field used for filtering (showing here, custom fields of type list, checkboxes, radio and New sql)
Filter Include or exclude the values that are set in the following parameter
Values The list of the values the items must have or not have to be selected, comma separated
Exclude IDs Exclude articles from the list of selected ones (comma separated)

Example 20,34,47
Include IDs Include only these articles (comma separated)

Include Featured Featured items filtering.
  • Yes include featured items
  • No do not include featured items
  • Only get only the featured items
  • First include featured items, showing first
Category order The order of the categories
  • Order by administration console order
Order The order in which the articles are presented (per category if categories are ordered)
  • Order by administration console order
  • Added by created date
  • Modified by modified date
  • Published by published date
  • Touched
  • Finished by published down date
  • Random
  • Popular by number of hits
  • Title by alphabetical order
Enforce language On multi-lingual sites, allows you to select items with the same language as the language of the page or mix items of different languages
Max count The max number of articles that will show. Leave blank to show all articles
